Jane Yang - Founder/Program Director

Jane Yang founded the Toronto Kids Digital Festival in the year of 2016 with the passion to empower young minds with the technological tools and the STEAM way of thinking. She obtained her double concentration Bachelor Degree in both Interactive Arts and Technology as well as Design. In the year 2015 she graduated from OCAD University with a Master's Degree in Inclusive Design. She taught workshops in 3D printing and art making. She believes that knowledge is power, and that by standing on the shoulders of knowledge, children will expand their imagination and be able to dream bigger!

Jenny Lee - Project Manager

Jenny Lee is re-joining Toronto Kids Digital Festival as Project Manager after working as Event Manager at the inaugural festival. Jenny is passionate about arts festivals and public arts programming. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Cinema Studies from University of Toronto. She has worked as staff at Toronto International Film Festival, Toronto Korean Film Festival, and Gallery Gachet (Vancouver), a unique art gallery and studio space run by an artists’ collective where she taught digital art making workshops.

Ariane Burtin - Festival Assistant

For the second edition of Toronto Kids Digital Festival, Ariane Burtin is rejoining the team as Festival Assistant. With a Master’s Degree from the engineering school IMAC (Image Multimedia Audiovisual and Communication), she managed projects for a digital communication agency in Paris for several years. Since her arrival in Toronto, she has been reconnecting her professional background with art fields.

Katie Micak - Curator

Katie Micak has been on founding team for Toronto Kids Digital Festival and Vector Festival which focuses on interactive and game art practices. She has taught at OCADU, Brock University, and Syracuse University in various departments of Digital Futures, Pop Culture and Film, and Transmedia and Video Art. She was director of Spark Contemporary (Syracuse, NY) and Propeller Gallery (Toronto). She is currently the Exhibitions Curator and Residency Coordinator at the Living Arts Centre at the City of Mississauga.

Sina Dolati - Workshop Instructor, Festival Tech Lead

Sina Dolati is excited to join the Toronto Kids Digital Festival for its second year, to instruct a new 360/VR filmmaking workshop, and to assist with tech. A storyteller at heart, Sina pursues novel ways to deliver narratives working as filmmaker in the 2D space as well as 360 video. He holds an MA in Media Production at Ryerson’s RTA School of Media, where he focused on 360 filmmaking and interactive storytelling. In 2017, Sina co-founded Toronto New Wave, a multimedia film, music and interactive media festival for emerging artists and technologies.

Kelly Vo - Event Manager

Kelly Vo is creative in nature and loves to work with children, which is what brought her to the Toronto Kids Digital Festival since the inaugural year. Kelly has been Event Designer at Berries and Blooms and as well as banquets team staff at Hotel X. A recent graduate in Tourism and Events at Seneca College, she was on its events team for the 2019 Pinning Ceremony. Kelly hopes that this festival will make an impact on how children view art and technology, and that they will learn new interesting information they can share with their friends and family!
